Learning

happens

here.

With a beautifully forested campus and frequent trips around the surrounding area, The Skola takes a novel approach to elementary education: bigger community, better connections.

OUR MISSION

We are changing the culture of learning by pairing what to know with how we grow.

We help students develop relationships inside and out, form healthy learning habits using the best academic research, and build connections in town and beyond where students feel responsible for their purpose and place.

Welcome to The Skola

The Skola is a not-for-profit, independent school. We use mixed-age groups for classroom activities, community projects, and nature immersions, in addition to 1-on-1 sessions with our learning specialists to bring focused attention to each child’s experience.

Our big picture curriculum

The essential skills of creativity, critical thinking, and compassionate decision-making come to life when kids can connect what they learn to where AND who they are.

Learning on
the wing

The questions we ask, the models we use, and the places that help us find clarity look different every day.

Support The Skola

We all have that teacher, class, or special program that delivered far more value than it cost to create. Join our inaugural fundraising campaign and reimagine what a school can be.

All children are natural learners. The Skola expands where learning can happen.

We are committed to a rigorous academic program that challenges, provokes, and deepens our students’ repertoire of skills. And even more importantly, those skills can be plugged into the meaning-making world of your child’s own thoughts, feelings, and passions.

NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATORY POLICY AS TO STUDENTS

The Skola admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
